Borovets Ski Resort Bulgaria

Borovets ski resort is situated on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountain at an altitude of 1350 meters. As the oldest and most famous Bulgarian mountain resort, it enjoys an amazing location huddled amongst age-old pine forests right at the foot of Mount Musala (2925 m), the highest peak on the Balkans. The resort began life at the end of the 19th century as a hunting resort for the Bulgarian kings. Since then Borovets has developed into a modern year round mountain resort and is the top destination for Bulgarian skiing and snowboarding.

The resort has 58 km of pistes and 35 km of cross county trails weaving through the forests of the beautiful Rila mountains. The Borovets pistes rise from 1350 to a level of 2600m which ensures quality skiing all season long. Several pistes also benefit from snow cannons to ensure that the snow conditions are maintained at all times. At night there is the added bonus of several floodlit pistes which allow you to enjoy the slopes late into the evening.

Borovets skiing and snowboarding is available for all levels and the resort is known internationally for the high quality and good value of its ski instructors. Borovets has many English speaking ski and snow boarding instructors. We are happy to recommend the best ski guides in the resort.
